A complete beginner's guide to creating, securing, and launching a token on Sei.

This documentation walks you through every step, from preparing your token to deploying it on Sei. No coding or Solidity knowledge is required.

Part 1 — Creating Your Token

Welcome

Creating a token on Sei is much easier than many people expect. With DimaChain, you can deploy a secure, immutable-metadata ERC-20 token in less than a minute.

However, creating a token is only the beginning. A successful launch also involves verifying your token, adding liquidity, making it tradeable, and building trust with your community.

This guide covers the complete process.

By the end of this documentation you will know how to:

Everything is explained step by step.

Before You Start

Before creating your token, make sure you have everything ready.

1. Install a Wallet

DimaChain works with any Ethereum-compatible wallet on Sei.

Supported wallets include:

If you don't already have one, install a wallet and securely back up your recovery phrase before continuing.

Important

Never share your recovery phrase with anyone. DimaChain will never ask for it.

2. Fund Your Wallet

Creating a token requires a small amount of SEI.

Your wallet balance covers transaction fees and contract deployment costs, plus the platform's fixed $10 creation fee.

If your wallet has insufficient SEI, the transaction cannot be completed.

Testing first?

If you just want to try DimaChain without spending real money, switch your wallet to Sei's testnet and request free test SEI from a public faucet. Testnet tokens have no real value and are for testing only.

3. Prepare Your Token

Think about your project before clicking Create Token.

Prepare the following information:

Having everything ready makes the creation process much smoother.

Planning Your Token

One of the biggest mistakes beginners make is rushing through the form.

Your token's identity will be permanent.

Spend a few minutes planning it properly.

Choosing a Name

Your token name is how people will recognize your project.

Good names are:

Examples

Good

Less effective

Remember:

Once your token is deployed, the name cannot be changed.

Choosing a Symbol

The symbol is your token's ticker.

Examples:

BTC

ETH

SEI

PEPE

DOGE

Good symbols are usually between 3 and 6 characters, and DimaChain allows up to 8.

Avoid:

Choose something that people can easily remember.

Choosing the Total Supply

The supply determines how many tokens will ever exist.

There is no perfect number. Different projects use different supplies.

Project Type Typical Supply
Premium token 1,000,000
Utility token 100,000,000
Meme coin 1,000,000,000

A larger supply does not make your project more valuable. Market value depends on supply and price. Choose a supply that fits your project's goals.

Choosing Decimals

Decimals determine how divisible your token is.

ERC-20 tokens on Sei almost universally use:

18

Eighteen decimals is the standard across the whole Ethereum-compatible world — wallets, DEXs, and block explorers all assume it by default.

Only change this if you fully understand why your project requires a different value.

Writing a Description

Your description appears in wallets, explorers, and many third-party applications.

Keep it clear and concise.

Good example:

Community-driven meme token on Sei with a fixed supply and permanently locked metadata.

Poor example:

Best coin ever!!! Buy now!!!

A professional description builds confidence.

Your logo is often the first thing people notice.

Recommendations:

Remember that your logo will appear in wallets, SeiTrace, DEXs, portfolio trackers, and community posts.

A clean logo makes your project look much more professional.

Creating Your Token

Once everything is ready, creating your token takes less than a minute.

Step 1 — Connect Your Wallet

Click Connect Wallet.

Choose your preferred wallet.

Approve the connection request.

Your wallet is now connected to DimaChain.

Step 2 — Complete the Form

Fill in each field carefully. Take your time.

Everything should be reviewed before deployment because some properties become permanent.

The form includes: Name, Symbol, Decimals, Total Supply, Description, Logo, Website, X, Telegram, Discord.

Social links are optional but highly recommended. Projects with complete metadata generally appear more trustworthy.

Step 3 — Review Everything

Before clicking Create Token, double-check:

✔ Name spelling

✔ Symbol

✔ Supply

✔ Description

✔ Logo

✔ Website

✔ Social links

Small mistakes cannot always be corrected later. Spending an extra minute reviewing everything is worth it.

Step 4 — Create Token

Click Create Token.

Your wallet opens automatically.

Review the transaction details.

Approve the transaction.

The deployment usually finishes within 15 to 60 seconds depending on network conditions.

What Happens Behind the Scenes?

Although the process looks simple, DimaChain performs several operations automatically.

During deployment DimaChain:

  1. Deploys your token's ERC-20 contract on Sei.
  2. Uploads your logo permanently.
  3. Uploads your metadata permanently.
  4. Mints your entire token supply.
  5. Sends 100% of the supply to your wallet.
  6. Removes the mint function from the contract.
  7. Renounces contract ownership.
  8. Submits the contract source for verification on SeiTrace.
  9. Finalizes the deployment.

All of this happens automatically. No coding is required.

What Gets Stored Permanently?

Several parts of your project become permanent after deployment. These include: token name, symbol, description, logo, total supply, metadata, and the fact that ownership has been permanently renounced.

This permanence is one of the reasons users trust blockchain projects. Investors know these core properties cannot later be modified.

Best Practices Before Deployment

Take a final moment to review these recommendations.

Keep your branding consistent

Use the same logo, name, and symbol across your website, X account, Telegram, Discord, and marketing materials. Consistency helps people recognize your project.

If you provide a website, X, Telegram, or Discord link, make sure they work correctly. Broken links reduce trust immediately.

Don't rush

Many beginners deploy a token and immediately notice spelling mistakes, wrong supply, incorrect logo, or an outdated website. Spend a few extra minutes reviewing everything before deployment — it is much easier to prevent mistakes than to explain them later.

What's Next?

Congratulations! Your token is now live on Sei.

In the next part of this guide you'll learn how to find your token in your wallet, view it on SeiTrace, verify the supply and metadata, understand your token's security settings, and prepare for adding liquidity.

Part 2 — After Creating Your Token

Your token has now been deployed on Sei. Congratulations! 🎉

Many beginners think this is the finish line. In reality, this is where your project actually begins.

This chapter explains what happens immediately after deployment, where your token is stored, how to verify it, and how to prove to your community that your project is secure.

Congratulations! Your Token Is Live

Once your transaction has been confirmed:

At this point your token already exists. It simply isn't tradeable yet because no liquidity pool has been created. We'll cover liquidity in the next chapter.

Where Is My Token?

"Where are my tokens?"

By default, 100% of your token supply is transferred to the wallet that created the token. Nothing is kept by DimaChain. Nothing is locked. Nothing is hidden. You own your entire supply immediately after deployment.

Why Can't I See My Token?

Sometimes your wallet won't display your new token immediately. This is completely normal — different wallets update their token lists at different speeds, and some require you to add the token's contract address manually.

This does not mean your token was lost.

How to Find Your Token

If your wallet doesn't display the token immediately, try the following steps.

Refresh Your Wallet

Many wallets include a refresh button, or a manual "import token" option where you can paste the contract address.

Disconnect and Reconnect

Some wallets refresh after reconnecting. Disconnect your wallet from DimaChain and connect it again.

Check Recent Transactions

Open your wallet's transaction history. You should see the deployment transaction. Selecting it usually reveals your newly created token's contract address.

Search Using SeiTrace

Even if your wallet hasn't updated yet, SeiTrace will usually show your token. This is often the easiest way to verify that deployment completed successfully.

Your Deployment Information

After deployment DimaChain provides several important pieces of information you should save: the Contract Address, the Transaction Hash, and the SeiTrace Link.

These identifiers uniquely identify your token forever.

Understanding the Contract Address

Every token on Sei is represented by its own ERC-20 contract. The contract address identifies your token uniquely across the entire network — think of it as your project's permanent blockchain address.

You will use it for viewing your token on SeiTrace, creating liquidity pools, sharing your project with others, and integrating with applications.

Keep a copy somewhere safe.

Understanding Token Balances

Unlike the contract address, which identifies the token itself, each holder's balance is simply tracked inside the contract's own storage — there's no separate "account" object to manage, unlike on some other chains. Your wallet reads your balance directly from the contract.

Viewing Your Token on SeiTrace

SeiTrace is the most widely used blockchain explorer for Sei. Think of it as a public database that allows anyone to inspect blockchain data. Every deployment can be verified independently — this transparency is one of blockchain's greatest strengths.

Why SeiTrace Matters

When someone discovers your project, one of the first things they often do is check SeiTrace. They want to verify that your token is genuine. A public explorer allows anyone to confirm important information without trusting the project team.

What Can You See on SeiTrace?

Your SeiTrace page contains: token name, symbol, description, logo, total supply, contract address, deployment transaction, creation time, holder information, and transaction history.

Everything displayed comes directly from the blockchain.

Verify Your Token

After opening SeiTrace, verify the following.

Name

Does the displayed name match your project?

Symbol

Make sure the ticker is correct.

Description

Check for spelling mistakes. Remember that metadata is permanent.

Image

Verify your logo appears correctly. A missing or incorrect image should be investigated immediately.

Supply

Confirm that the total supply matches what you entered during deployment. Supply should never be different.

Transactions

Open the transaction history. You should see your deployment transaction. Later you'll also see transfers, swaps, liquidity additions and other blockchain activity.

Sharing Your SeiTrace Link

One of the easiest ways to build trust is sharing your SeiTrace page. Instead of saying "trust us," show people "verify everything yourself." Most experienced crypto users always verify projects independently. Providing your SeiTrace link demonstrates transparency.

Understanding Token Security

One of the biggest concerns in cryptocurrency is security. Investors want to know whether the creator still controls the token. DimaChain automatically applies several important security protections. Understanding these features helps you explain your project to your community.

Metadata Locked

Your metadata includes name, symbol, description, and logo. Once deployed, these values become permanent (the contract's name/symbol are set once in the constructor with no setter function). Nobody can secretly replace your logo or rename your token later.

Mint Function Removed

This is one of the most important security features. A mint function allows additional tokens to be created. DimaChain deploys your contract with no such function reachable after the initial supply is minted — no additional supply can ever exist. Your maximum supply is fixed forever.

Ownership Renounced

Many ERC-20 contracts keep an "owner" address with special admin powers. DimaChain renounces this ownership immediately after deployment — no address, including DimaChain's own, retains any admin control over your contract. No wallet can be blacklisted or paused, and every holder remains fully in control of their own assets.

Verified Contract

Your token's source code is submitted for verification on SeiTrace, so anyone can read the exact code that governs your token — not just trust a compiled bytecode blob. Combined with no mint function and renounced ownership, this means there is no hidden logic and no upgrade/proxy pattern that could later change how your token behaves.

Why These Security Features Matter

People buying your token don't know you personally. Instead, they evaluate the contract itself. Strong security settings help answer common questions: Can the creator mint more tokens? Can they freeze or blacklist wallets? Can they change the logo? Can they swap in different contract logic later?

With DimaChain, the answer to all of these questions is No. This gives your community confidence that the project's core rules cannot change unexpectedly.

Common Beginner Mistakes

Launching a token is simple, but new creators often make avoidable mistakes.

Mistake 1 — Not Saving the Contract Address

Always keep a copy of your contract address. You'll need it later for creating liquidity pools and sharing your project.

Mistake 2 — Thinking the Token Failed Because It Isn't Visible

Wallets sometimes take time to display new assets, or need the contract address added manually. Always verify on SeiTrace before assuming something went wrong.

People trust verifiable information. Include your SeiTrace link whenever announcing your token.

Mistake 4 — Ignoring Security

Many creators never explain why their token is secure. Mention: fixed supply, locked metadata, no mint function, and renounced ownership. These are important trust signals.

Mistake 5 — Expecting People to Buy Immediately

Your token exists. But it is not yet tradeable. The next step is creating a liquidity pool. Without liquidity there are no swaps, no market price, and no trading. Liquidity is what transforms your token from a blockchain asset into a tradeable cryptocurrency.

What's Next?

Your token is now successfully deployed, stored in your wallet, publicly visible on SeiTrace, permanently secured, and ready for the next stage.

In the next chapter you'll learn how to create a liquidity pool on a Sei-native DEX such as DragonSwap, set your token's initial price, understand LP tokens, make your token tradeable, and view your liquidity on DexScreener.

Part 3 — Making Your Token Tradeable

Your token now exists on Sei. People can verify it and see it on SeiTrace. However, nobody can buy or sell it yet.

To make your token tradeable, you must create a liquidity pool. This is one of the most important steps of your entire launch.

What Is Liquidity?

Liquidity is a pool of assets that allows users to trade without needing another person on the opposite side of the trade. Instead of buying directly from you, users trade against the liquidity pool.

Without liquidity, nobody can buy or sell your token, your token has no market price, and DexScreener cannot display a price chart.

Why Is Liquidity Important?

Liquidity creates the first market for your token. Once a liquidity pool exists, people can buy and sell your token, a market price is established, price charts become available, and trading volume can begin.

How Liquidity Works

A liquidity pool contains two assets. For most new tokens on Sei, these are your token and SEI.

AssetAmount
MYTOKEN800,000,000
SEI500

These two assets form your first trading pool. Whenever someone buys your token, they add SEI to the pool and receive some of your tokens. Whenever someone sells, they return your token and receive SEI. The pool automatically updates the price after every trade.

Where Do I Create Liquidity?

DimaChain supports a Sei-native DEX such as DragonSwap. After creating your token: open the DEX, connect the same wallet that created your token, create a new liquidity pool, deposit your token and SEI, and approve the transaction.

Your token becomes tradeable immediately after the pool is created.

Choosing a Trading Pair

Most projects pair their token with SEI or a major stablecoin like USDC. For new meme coins and community projects, SEI is usually the best choice — it makes it easier for new users to trade your token.

Setting the Initial Price

The creator of the first liquidity pool sets the initial market price. This is an important decision because it determines your token's starting valuation.

Pool
1,000 SEI
500,000,000 TOKEN

This automatically creates the initial exchange rate between your token and SEI. You don't need to calculate this manually — the DEX does the math for you — but you should understand that the ratio you choose becomes your launch price.

Tip

Avoid setting an unrealistic initial price. A balanced launch price encourages healthier trading and reduces extreme volatility.

How Much Liquidity Should I Add?

There is no universal answer — it depends on your budget and launch strategy. More liquidity creates a more stable market; less liquidity causes larger price swings. A pool with only a little SEI can experience very high volatility.

Should I Add My Entire Supply?

No. Most projects do not place 100% of their supply into liquidity — they reserve a portion for future use.

PurposePercentage
Liquidity70–90%
Marketing5–10%
Community Rewards5–10%
Team / TreasuryOptional

Every project is different. Choose a distribution that matches your long-term goals and be transparent about it with your community.

What Are LP Tokens?

After adding liquidity, you receive Liquidity Provider (LP) Tokens. These are not your project tokens — they represent your ownership of the liquidity pool, like a receipt. If you own the LP tokens, you own the liquidity you added.

Why Are LP Tokens Important?

LP tokens let you add more liquidity later, remove liquidity, or prove ownership of the pool. Without them, you cannot reclaim the assets you deposited. Store them safely.

Can I Remove Liquidity Later?

Yes. If you still own the LP tokens, you can remove some or all of your liquidity at any time, receiving back your token and SEI. Removing a large percentage can significantly affect trading and may reduce confidence in your project.

Burning Liquidity

Many successful meme coin projects choose to burn their LP tokens. When LP tokens are burned, they become permanently inaccessible — since they control ownership of the pool, burning them means the liquidity can no longer be withdrawn. The assets remain locked in the pool permanently.

Why Do Projects Burn Liquidity?

Burning liquidity is a trust signal — it tells the community the project cannot suddenly remove the liquidity and leave traders unable to sell. Benefits include increased investor confidence, reduced rug-pull concerns, and stronger long-term credibility. Burning liquidity is optional.

Burning vs. Locking Liquidity

BurningLocking
PermanentTemporary
Cannot be reversedUnlocks after a set period
Highest trustMore flexibility

If you burn your LP tokens, you will never be able to recover that liquidity. Only burn liquidity if you fully understand the consequences.

Swapping Tokens

Once liquidity has been added, anyone can trade your token. Users simply open a Sei-native DEX such as DragonSwap, select your token, enter the amount to swap, and approve the transaction. No central authority is involved.

Price Slippage

You may notice a warning about slippage during swaps — the difference between the expected price and the final execution price. Higher slippage usually occurs when liquidity is low or a very large trade is placed. Adding more liquidity generally reduces slippage.

Viewing Your Token on DexScreener

After your liquidity pool has been indexed, your token may appear on DexScreener, one of the most widely used tools for tracking decentralized exchange activity across EVM chains. It displays real-time information about your token and its trading pool.

What Can You See on DexScreener?

A typical token page includes live price, liquidity, market capitalization, Fully Diluted Valuation (FDV), trading volume, number of transactions, buy/sell activity, and a price chart. Many traders use DexScreener before deciding whether to invest in a project.

Understanding the Main Metrics

Price

The current value of one token. This changes automatically as people trade.

Liquidity

The total value locked in the trading pool. Higher liquidity usually means more stable trading.

Volume

The total amount traded over a specific time period. Higher volume often indicates stronger market activity.

Transactions

Shows the number of buys and sells. A healthy project typically has activity from many different wallets rather than only a few.

FDV (Fully Diluted Valuation)

FDV estimates the total value of the project if every token in the maximum supply is considered: Current Price × Total Supply. FDV is not the amount of money invested in the project — it's simply an estimated valuation based on the current market price.

Test Your Token

Before announcing your project publicly, buy your own token with a small amount of SEI, sell a small amount back to the pool, verify swaps complete successfully, check the price chart, and confirm your token appears correctly on analytics platforms.

Common Liquidity Mistakes

Avoid these common mistakes:

Adding Too Little Liquidity

Very small pools experience high volatility and large price swings.

Burning Liquidity Too Early

Make sure everything is working correctly before making irreversible decisions.

Losing LP Tokens

Without your LP tokens, you cannot remove liquidity unless they have been intentionally burned. Store them securely.

Announcing Before Testing

Always verify that swaps work, the pool is visible, the price is updating, and your token information is correct. Launching without testing can create unnecessary confusion for your community.

What's Next?

Congratulations! Your token is now live on Sei, tradeable on a Sei-native DEX such as DragonSwap, discoverable on analytics platforms, and ready to begin building a community.
